How We Rate
Our Approach
Every provider featured on 1glratings.com is evaluated using the same structured methodology. Our goal is to give you a clear, consistent basis for comparison — so you can identify the program that best fits your medical needs, budget, and lifestyle.
Scores are calculated across five weighted criteria. Each criterion is assessed independently, and the final score reflects a weighted average. Ratings are reviewed and updated quarterly to account for pricing changes, new service features, and recent patient feedback.
Scoring Criteria
1. Medical Oversight — 25%
We evaluate the qualifications of the physicians involved in the consultation and treatment process. Providers with board-certified physicians — particularly those specializing in obesity medicine or endocrinology — score higher in this category. We also assess how thorough the initial evaluation is, whether ongoing medical supervision is provided, and how the platform handles cases that require follow-up care.
2. Pricing Transparency — 25%
We assess how clearly providers communicate the full cost of their programs. This includes the initial consultation fee, medication costs, shipping, and any recurring charges. Providers that publish complete pricing upfront, offer flexible payment plans, or accept insurance score higher. Providers with hidden fees, unclear subscription terms, or difficult cancellation processes score lower.
3. Medication Options — 20%
We look at the range of medications available — including brand-name options such as Ozempic and Wegovy, as well as compounded Semaglutide and Tirzepatide alternatives. We also consider whether medications are sourced from licensed, accredited pharmacies, how dosing flexibility is handled, and whether the provider offers multiple GLP-1 options or only a single formulation.
4. Patient Support — 20%
Weight loss programs are most effective when patients receive consistent guidance throughout treatment. We evaluate the availability of dedicated health coaches, the responsiveness of customer support, the quality of onboarding materials, and whether the platform provides structured check-ins or monitoring at regular intervals. Providers that offer a higher level of ongoing care score better in this category.
5. User Reviews — 10%
We incorporate aggregated patient feedback from verified third-party review platforms, including Trustpilot and Google Reviews. We consider overall satisfaction scores, the volume of reviews, and the recency of feedback. We do not use reviews published directly on a provider's own website, as these cannot be independently verified.
Score Calculation
Each criterion is scored on a scale from 1 to 10. The final provider score is a weighted average based on the percentages above. For example, a provider scoring 10 in Medical Oversight contributes 2.5 points toward the final score, while a provider scoring 10 in User Reviews contributes 1.0 point.
Final scores are displayed on a 10-point scale and rounded to one decimal place.
Data Sources
Our assessments draw on the following sources:
- Publicly available information on provider websites
- Verified reviews on Trustpilot, Google, and similar platforms
- Publicly available regulatory and licensing information
- Direct testing of provider onboarding flows where possible
- Periodic re-evaluation following significant pricing or service changes
What We Do Not Evaluate
Our methodology does not assess the clinical efficacy of any specific medication — this is determined by regulatory bodies such as the FDA and documented in peer-reviewed research. We also do not make recommendations based on individual medical profiles. Eligibility for any GLP-1 program must be determined by a licensed healthcare provider.
Independence from Advertising
Commercial relationships with providers do not influence editorial scores. Advertisers do not have access to scores before publication, and we do not adjust ratings in exchange for compensation. For more information on our advertising relationships, see our Advertising Disclosure page.
